Fundraising Events… Friends of the Red Feather Club

This fundraising initiative has been introduced by the local Community Chest to provide a means for special individual donors to be part of social development in this community.

Currently we have a small membership. We would like to grow our membership to some 1,000 members for the welfare benefit of the poor and vulnerable in our community.

To become a “Friend of the Red Feather” a minimum annual donation of R1,000 is required. This can be paid annually or monthly.

In return for a Red Feather donation the donor will be issued an 18A receipt for tax benefits and the donation will be acknowledged in the Community Chest’s Annual Report.

The donor will proudly be able to associate with the phrase: “Life becomes worth living when it is geared towards giving.”

Friends of The Red Feather Started the Community Chest’s 2010 Legacy Programme

At the recent Community Chest luncheon, CEO Beulah Lumkwana launched the Community Chest’s 2010 Legacy Programme and invited guests to join in the development of the legacy programme by affiliating to the Community Chest’s Friends of the Red Feather Club for a 2-year 2008 – 2010 period.

Guests received a personalised Membership Certificate at the function and many committed their membership affiliation there and then. To those of you who did commit your support at the event, our sincere thanks for kick-starting this wonderful initiative with us!

For those of you who had to go home and think about it – we hope that you have been able to share our vision and agree that R85 a month is a mighty small investment toward this proactive campaign.
