Donors… Give-As-You-Earn

Give-As-You-Earn (GAYE) or workplace giving is either by way of payroll deduction or debit order. Most major employers administer a payroll deduction to their staff. The strength of workplace giving is that it provides employed people with a simple way of making a meaningful contribution to his/her community.

In the last few years the Community Chest has raised some R600,000 per annum from employees in the work place through Give-As-You-Earn.

Employees can decide to commit themselves to a monthly donation and how much they want to give. A pledge form is completed by each employee who wants to make a give as you earn donation. The pledge forms are collected and forwarded to the relevant person in his/her company and the monthly payroll deduction is forwarded or transferred to the Community Chest each month.

At any time the employee can increase, reduce or cancel a donation. This can be done through the payroll office or by letting the Community Chest GAYE fundraiser know and we will implement the changes.
